be truly free, you have to be willing to free your mind and change the
way you look at things. You have to be willing to take the lid off of
life and open it up, even if it means that what you see inside isn't
always pretty. To be free you have to "be real and deal"
with
the truth, that is. If you can't face the truth then you'll
never be free...simple as that.
Now, nobody said facing the truth is going to be easy. In fact, it's easily one of THE toughest things to do. Why? Because anytime you own up to the truth it means you are forced to make a decision, a decision of responsibility. Regardless of whether or not you are personally responsible, you are responsible for how YOU react, respond, etc. And, often that is too much to handle so we simply avoid the truth so that we never HAVE to make that decision. The problem with that approach is it keeps us in a false bubble that eventually will pop. So, either WE can be in control of when that bubble pops or we'll be forced to face it when it eventually does...but it will. Ask any bomb handler...as nerve racking as it is, they would much rather diffuse the bomb than have it blow up in their face. You can run from the truth, but it will eventually catch up with you and blow up in your face. It's better you take control and face the truth by diffusing it now before it's too late. What's important to remember is that facing the truth can change the truth even as it changes you. No truth is unchangeable. So, facing the truth does not have to be depressing but rather a moment of victory and rejoicing. Activism As an active church, our desire to is to actively help you and help you actively help others. The church was always meant to be "active". It's easy for churches to get caught in the first stage of activism: helping church members and never progress into what the church was meant to be: "the light of the world." The following are some suggested areas that need attention. (You can also send us your suggestions.) Pick a need and get involved. You can volunteer to lead an online group for that need or simply be part of the group. You can be involved at different levels from praying to organizing events, etc. (This list is not exhaustive but will get you thinking and "active".)
