God has laid out a Freedom Pathway for us and sin is simply veering from that path. Sin is not arbitrary. It's not a mean old God saying "Don't do that" just to be overbearing. Quite the contrary. The boundaries of the Freedom Pathway are in place to protect us.

If you grab a knife and start cutting your finger it's going to hurt
and the more you cut the greater the pain (don't try that btw, you can take our word for it). In the same way, sin cuts into the soul. Often we don't notice it until it's too late because we are more viscerally in touch with the physical than the spiritual, hence, the "if it feels good, do it" motif. Feels good physically, maybe, but what about spiritually. Often, we don't ask this until it's too late.

So, the purpose of a sin list is to allow us to intellectually comprehend sin without having to experience it physically or spiritually. Our conscience acts as a guide to protect our soul so that we can avoid the pain and damage sin causes. Simply by reading through the list of sins below, you will recognize those you most need to avoid. Your conscience will twinge with conviction. If you feel nothing, then your conscience has been seared like nerve endings that have been damaged, yet the damage still remains and persists. In this case, the intellectual understanding will help you to retreat from the source of damage so that feeling and sensitivity may again return.

Sins from A to Z
The following endeavors to be an exhaustive list of sins. (Obviously, an ongoing project, so we have started with some of the most prominent and/or controversial.) Again, sin is not arbitrary, so within each description we have included the element that makes the sin a sin.

Homosexuality
When the Bible refers to homosexuality, it is quite interesting to note that it refers to the "homosexual offender" rather than the homosexual. That's because there is no such thing as a homosexual. Obviously, man and woman are made to procreate with one another. (It doesn't take a rocket scientist or even the NASA receptionist to figure that one out.) So, what would lead someone to practice homosexuality rather than heterosexuality?

Common Argument: “I was Born This Way”
Answer: No one is born sexual. The very thought of a baby being sexual at birth curdles the stomach. Sexual babies is not an image anyone wants to see. Obviously, sexuality is developed. However, because it is generally a “taboo” topic in society it is most commonly developed in secret, meaning it is not something that is openly discussed. Rarely, are individuals given practical training in heterosexuality. It is generally assumed. Therefore, those who are confused or are misled are easy prey to sexual deviation from the path.

Reasons for Deviation
Sexuality is arguably the strongest physical desire we have. Meaning, if we are not allowed to be sexual, our nature will find a way. Hence, the reason we see outbreaks of homosexual behavior in prisons, the priesthood, the military, etc. Mankind is made to be sexual, in fact MUST be sexual to survive. It's not something to be ashamed of – it's one of God's greatest gifts. But, it IS something to be treasured and cultivated correctly. Primary reasons for individuals practicing homosexuality include:

Molestation: We are impressionable beings. If we are not being led along the path, odds are great that we will be led away from it. Because sexuality is such a strong desire it is that much more susceptible to being “perverted” or diverted from the path, especially in our early years of development.

Imagine we are young and have not learned about heterosexuality. We are approached by someone who wants to “introduce” us to a form of sexuality that deviates from the pathway (which may be homosexuality or other forms of deviation). Since we do not know of sexuality it is our first and only experience with it. First encounters are extremely powerful at establishing a precedent and setting a course for our lives. Because of this sexual encounter we have now, by no choice of our own, been set on a course for deviated sexual fulfillment. Because it was such a powerful experience, desired or not, we no longer pursue the proper course of fulfillment and plunge or are led deeper into a deviated course. Molestation or sexual abuse from another, typically an older, individual or individuals is the primary cause for individuals to choose homosexuality.
